About Yingfan
Hello! I’m a certified Chinese teacher and a native speaker of both Mandarin and Cantonese. I specialize in helping young adults and adult learners develop practical Chinese skills and gain confidence in real-life communication.
My lessons are structured, interactive, and adapted to each student’s goals. Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some experience with Chinese, I will guide you step by step with clear explanations, speaking practice, and useful vocabulary. I focus on helping students communicate naturally rather than just memorizing rules.
As a multilingual tutor who also speaks Japanese and French, I understand the challenges of learning a new language. This allows me to explain grammar, pronunciation, and cultural differences in a clear and supportive way.
In my classes, you can expect a friendly and professional learning environment where you can practice speaking without pressure. I can help you improve conversational Chinese, pronunciation, and everyday communication, or support you in preparing for exams such as HSK.

My teaching approach focuses on practical communication, clear structure, and building students’ confidence in using Chinese in real situations.
**Teaching method and techniques**
I use a communicative and student-centered approach. My lessons combine speaking practice, listening activities, vocabulary building, and cultural context. I adapt materials to each student’s goals and learning style. Since I also speak Japanese and French, I can explain difficult concepts more clearly for learners who speak these languages.
**Typical lesson structure**
A typical lesson begins with a short review of what we learned previously, followed by introducing new vocabulary or grammar. We then practice through conversation, role-plays, and real-life examples. I also include pronunciation training to help students sound more natural. At the end of the lesson, we summarize key points and discuss what to practice before the next class.
**What makes my lessons different**
As a native speaker of both Mandarin and Cantonese with an international Chinese teaching certificate, I provide accurate pronunciation guidance and authentic language use. I focus on helping students speak confidently rather than just memorizing rules. I also bring cultural insights into the lessons so students can understand how Chinese is used in daily life.
