About Sloane

My fascination with chemistry began with a desire to understand how substances interact, transform, and impact our world. I pursued a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, gaining expertise in reaction mechanisms, analytical methods, and practical laboratory skills. Over the past 10 years, I have guided students through challenging topics, helping them gain conceptual clarity, practical competence, and academic confidence in chemistry.

I prioritize teaching that balances theory, practical applications, and problem-solving skills. Many students find abstract concepts or laboratory techniques intimidating, so I break down ideas into clear steps, provide examples from everyday chemistry, and integrate hands-on exercises. My approach ensures students not only understand the material but also develop confidence in applying their knowledge independently.

Outside the classroom, I remain engaged with chemical research, pharmaceutical studies, and innovative laboratory practices, bringing contemporary knowledge into lessons. Witnessing students evolve from uncertainty to understanding, curiosity, and confidence is deeply fulfilling. Supporting learners in building both expertise and a passion for chemistry is the most rewarding part of my professional journey.

Chemistry lessons focus on making theoretical and practical aspects of the subject accessible, engaging, and intellectually stimulating. I guide students through atomic theory, molecular structure, chemical reactions, thermodynamics, stoichiometry, kinetics, acids and bases, organic chemistry, and laboratory techniques. Each session emphasizes conceptual clarity, applied reasoning, and problem-solving skills, helping learners connect classroom theory to real-world chemical phenomena and practical applications.

Beginners receive patient guidance on foundational topics such as periodic table concepts, bonding, simple chemical reactions, solution chemistry, and safe lab practices. Intermediate learners tackle reaction mechanisms, equilibrium calculations, titrations, kinetics, and multi-step problem-solving with examples and exercises. Advanced learners explore spectroscopy, reaction analysis, organic synthesis, and experimental design, with lessons that integrate guided problem-solving and application-based discussions. Each session encourages active participation, reflection, and iterative practice to reinforce learning outcomes.

Chemistry education also fosters analytical thinking, careful observation, and intellectual curiosity. Students develop confidence in tackling complex calculations, conducting laboratory experiments, and interpreting data accurately. My aim is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident exploring chemistry, applying concepts to new challenges, and developing lifelong curiosity and understanding of the molecular world.
