About Ruby

I have spent 9 years teaching chemistry, earning a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Physical and Analytical Chemistry. My experience ranges from guiding beginners to establish foundational knowledge to mentoring advanced learners tackling complex reactions, kinetics, and applied laboratory work. I combine theoretical explanations with interactive exercises, practical demonstrations, and real-world examples to make chemistry intellectually stimulating, accessible, and enjoyable.

My teaching philosophy centres on patience, clarity, and personalised guidance. Lessons integrate structured exercises, laboratory-style demonstrations, problem-solving practice, and conceptual reinforcement to promote independent thinking, curiosity, and confidence. I cultivate a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore concepts, ask questions, and develop mastery.

Beyond teaching, I actively engage with chemical research, experimental innovation, and applied laboratory techniques. Integrating contemporary insights into my lessons enhances relevance and practical understanding. Watching students grow from tentative learners into confident, capable problem-solvers is deeply rewarding. My goal is to instil curiosity, mastery, and a lasting appreciation for chemistry in every learner I guide.

Chemistry becomes exciting when students understand how molecular principles connect to observable phenomena and practical applications. My lessons cover atomic and molecular structures, chemical bonding, reaction kinetics, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, equilibrium, spectroscopy, and laboratory techniques. I incorporate guided problem-solving, interactive experiments, demonstrations, simulations, and real-life examples to ensure learners develop both conceptual understanding and practical skills. Each session fosters curiosity, analytical reasoning, and independent exploration within a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

Lessons are designed according to each student’s level. Beginners focus on foundational chemical concepts, measurements, basic calculations, and simple laboratory exercises. Intermediate learners engage with reaction mechanisms, equilibrium problems, titration, kinetics, and applied problem-solving. Advanced learners tackle complex syntheses, multi-step calculations, thermodynamics, chemical modelling, and research-style analyses. Structured exercises, personalised guidance, and continuous feedback ensure consistent comprehension, skill development, and confidence.

Studying chemistry develops analytical thinking, systematic problem-solving, and practical reasoning that extend beyond the classroom. Students gain confidence in interpreting data, predicting outcomes, and solving complex chemical problems independently. My goal is to cultivate conceptual understanding, experimental skill, and scientific curiosity, enabling learners to excel academically and professionally in chemistry.
