About Holly
My fascination with chemistry began with observing chemical transformations and understanding the underlying principles of reactions. I pursued a B.Sc in Chemistry followed by an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, acquiring both theoretical depth and practical laboratory skills. Over 9 years, I have taught learners from foundational to advanced levels, helping them develop strong conceptual understanding, practical skills, and confidence in tackling complex chemical problems.
I emphasize a supportive and interactive teaching approach that encourages curiosity, independent thinking, and analytical reasoning. By combining real-world examples, laboratory exercises, and step-by-step explanations, I help students make abstract concepts tangible and comprehensible.
Beyond teaching, I actively engage in chemical research, analytical studies, and practical applications, incorporating these experiences into lessons to provide context and relevance. Watching students evolve from uncertainty to competence, gain confidence in problem-solving, and develop a genuine interest in chemistry is immensely rewarding and motivates my ongoing commitment to education.

My lessons cover organic, inorganic, physical chemistry, reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, and analytical techniques, combining conceptual clarity with problem-solving and experimental practice. Students are encouraged to explore ideas, predict outcomes, and understand principles rather than relying solely on memorization.
For beginners, I focus on foundational principles such as atomic structure, bonding, periodic trends, and basic chemical reactions, building confidence and clarity. Intermediate learners study stoichiometry, equilibrium, thermodynamics, kinetics, and solution chemistry, applying principles through exercises and practical examples. Advanced learners explore spectroscopy, reaction mechanisms, organic synthesis, and advanced analytical techniques, strengthening their problem-solving, experimental, and reasoning abilities. Lessons are interactive, engaging, and structured to cultivate curiosity, understanding, and long-term retention.
Learning chemistry develops critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and scientific literacy.
