About Logan

My fascination with chemistry began in my early academic years, driven by a curiosity about molecular interactions and the logic behind chemical reactions. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Chemical Analysis, combining theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory expertise. Over 9 years, I have guided students of varying levels—from those starting with foundational chemistry to advanced learners tackling research, competitions, and professional applications. My teaching emphasises clarity, analytical reasoning, and confidence-building alongside conceptual mastery.

I teach with patience, structured guidance, and adaptability, using visual aids, interactive exercises, and stepwise explanations to make complex topics approachable and memorable. I encourage independent thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving, helping students understand the principles behind every reaction or calculation. My lessons balance conceptual understanding with practical application to foster academic success and genuine interest.

Beyond teaching, I remain engaged with ongoing research, analytical techniques, and emerging chemical knowledge, bringing current real-world insights into the classroom. Observing learners progress from uncertainty to mastery, building confidence, analytical skills, and curiosity, is profoundly rewarding. I strive to support students in excelling academically while nurturing a lifelong passion for chemistry.

Chemistry is most effective when students can see the connections between theory, experiments, and real-world phenomena. My lessons cover the principles of organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, emphasising conceptual understanding alongside problem-solving strategies. I focus on reaction mechanisms, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, kinetics, spectroscopy, and laboratory techniques, ensuring students gain both a solid theoretical foundation and practical analytical skills. Each session integrates examples from everyday life, hands-on problem-solving, and thought experiments to foster curiosity and understanding.

Lesson plans are tailored to students’ proficiency. Beginners focus on fundamental concepts like atomic structure, bonding, and simple reactions. Intermediate learners delve into chemical equilibria, reaction kinetics, molecular geometry, and applied problem-solving. Advanced learners tackle multi-step organic synthesis, analytical methods, reaction modelling, and real-world applications for exam preparation or research projects. Every session combines guided practice, interactive examples, and conceptual discussions to ensure understanding, retention, and confidence.

Chemistry lessons not only develop academic skills but also enhance analytical reasoning, structured thinking, and observation. Students learn to evaluate processes critically, connect theory with experiment, and approach challenges methodically. My goal is to empower learners to excel in chemistry while cultivating curiosity, independent thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for the molecular world around them.
