About Roshan
I have completed my PhD. in synthetic organic chemistry from the Uni. of Georgia, Athens, USA with specialization in carbohydrate chemistry. During the course of my research I worked on novel methods to synthesize biologically active sugar molecules and applied the same to synthesize carbohydrate molecules present in the plant cell wall. I received my PhD. in December 2013, after which I returned to India and joined a fine chemical manufacturing unit in Pondicherry.
My current company specializes in the bulk manufacture of chemicals used in the food flavor industry.I am the Head of Operations and I am in charge of product development, production planning and quality assurance.
Now, I am planning to relocate back to Manipal and looking for challenging opportunities to use my training skills as a chemist in the field of education.
I am passionate about chemistry and I am confident I will be able to teach the subject with alacrity and passion. I have extensive research experience and have taught organic chemistry lab to undergraduates at University of Georgia for 1 year as part of my graduate studies.
I am fluent in English and can communicate and express my ideas in a lucid and articulate manner.

My method of instruction will involve:
1. Defining the syllabus exhaustively and explaining/teaching the content of the syllabus based on the text book of the particular Board ( NCERT or State Board).
2. Teaching methodology would involve oral lectures with the aid of a black/white board for a duration of 45-60 mins/class.
3. After the completion of a particular chapter I would like to solve all the practice exercises or questions provided in the textbook after every chapter.
4. Apart from these I shall give extra assignments based on the chapters recently completed as home assignments.
5. Wherever possible I will try to make use of models or videos to help explain the concepts in a clear manner.
6. The idea is to make the students understand the theory and get them to work out as many practice questions so as to give them the confidence to tackle any examinations that they may face.
