About Colby
My interest in chemistry began with curiosity about how substances react and transform in the world around us. This curiosity led me to pursue a PhD in Organic Chemistry, where I gained deep knowledge of reaction mechanisms and molecular behavior. Over the past 11 years, I have taught students from different backgrounds, helping them build confidence and strong understanding in chemistry. Teaching has become a meaningful part of my journey because I enjoy guiding students toward success.
My teaching style focuses on clarity, patience, and adaptability. I understand that each student has a different learning pace, so I adjust my explanations to match their needs. I break down complex topics into simple steps and use examples, diagrams, and exercises to make learning easier. I also encourage students to ask questions, think independently, and build their own understanding of concepts, which helps them grow more confident over time.
Outside teaching, I continue exploring new developments in chemistry and improving my teaching methods. This helps me keep my lessons updated and relevant. Teaching chemistry is very rewarding because I see students grow from confusion to clarity. Helping them build strong knowledge, gain confidence, and achieve their goals motivates me to continue teaching with dedication, patience, and a deep passion for learning.

My chemistry lessons are designed to make learning simple, clear, and engaging for every student. I begin with foundational topics such as atomic structure, bonding, and periodic properties, explaining each concept step by step in a very easy and understandable way. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind chemical behavior instead of memorizing facts. I use real-life examples so students can connect chemistry to everyday situations. This makes learning more interesting and meaningful. I also create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas freely.
As students progress, I introduce more advanced topics such as chemical reactions, equilibrium, acids and bases, and organic chemistry. I guide them through structured problem-solving methods that help them apply concepts accurately. Practice exercises are included in every lesson to improve understanding and confidence. I also spend time reviewing mistakes carefully so students can learn from them and improve step by step. Each lesson is carefully planned to support steady learning and strong conceptual clarity.
Chemistry becomes much easier when students begin to understand how different concepts are connected. Over time, students develop confidence and start solving problems more independently. Many learners who once found chemistry difficult begin to feel more comfortable and interested in the subject. My goal is to help students build strong knowledge, improve their analytical thinking, and gain the confidence to apply chemistry in exams, practical situations, and future learning with ease and clarity.
