About Julia
Over the past three years, I have instructed students at the middle school, high school, and college level in a variety of subjects. Most recently, I completed my student teaching in an eighth grade classroom, where I was given responsibility for the daily instruction of almost 100 students. Due to my careful planning and engaging lessons, there was a 98 percent pass rate on the final unit exam as well as significant improvement in the writing skills of our students overall.

I am a recent graduate of SUNY Brockport with a bachelor's degree in History and Secondary Education. Now, I am starting a master's program at Teachers College focused on literacy. My goal is to not only help students understand content, but provide them with strategies and work on skills that will allow them to be successful in social studies. My lessons tend to be interactive and discussion-based, as I believe in the value of student voice.
