About Alejandra
Born in Mexico City, I attended a bilingual elementary school that proved helpful for when I moved to the suburbs of Chicago at 9 years old. Growing up in Mexico City and Chicago, I developed a deep appreciation for education and bilingual learning. I attended Illinois State University where I obtained my teaching credentials for Education, Bilingual Education, and Spanish as a world language. With over 4 years of experience in education, I have taught at various schools in the US as well as abroad in Spain. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, challenged, and empowered to embrace their mistakes as part of the learning process. I currently work part-time for an elementary school where I teach Spanish from TK-5th grade. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work with you and foster a love for the Spanish language.

I adapt my teaching style to each student's learning preferences, whether they thrive on visual aids, auditory exercises, or hands-on activities. My goal is to help students feel confident communicating in Spanish by emphasizing practical language use over rote memorization.
