About Abdelrahman
Alongside my Islamic education, I hold a PhD, which reflects my commitment to academic excellence and structured, evidence-based teaching. This dual background — traditional Islamic scholarship and modern academic training — allows me to bring both depth and clarity to every lesson.
I have spent the last 4 years teaching students in the United States, which has given me a strong understanding of the needs, learning styles, and challenges faced by English-speaking students and Muslim families raising children in a Western context. My lessons are delivered fully in English, ensuring that nothing is lost in translation.

My approach to teaching the Quran is rooted in both scholarly tradition and modern pedagogy. Holding an authenticated Ijazah in the Seven Qira'at — a rare, chain-verified certification tracing back to the Prophet ﷺ — I bring a level of precision and authenticity that few tutors can offer. Combined with a PhD-level academic background and over 10 years of teaching experience, my lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and tailored to each student's pace and needs.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of the previous session, followed by focused Tajweed rule instruction with real Quranic examples, then guided recitation with immediate corrective feedback. For Hifz students, I incorporate spaced repetition and revision techniques proven to strengthen long-term memorization. Beyond recitation and memorization, I place great emphasis on helping students build a living relationship with the Quran — understanding its meanings, reflecting on its verses, and applying its guidance in daily life. The goal is not just a correct recitation, but a heart connected to the Book of Allah.
What truly sets me apart is my 4 years of experience teaching non-native Arabic speakers in the United States. I understand the specific challenges English speakers face — from unfamiliar sounds like ع and غ to the rhythm of Arabic recitation — and I know exactly how to bridge that gap with patience and clarity.
I have a particular passion for working with young students between the ages of 10 and 20, including those with challenging personalities or difficult attitudes toward learning. I believe that every young person who pushes back is simply waiting for the right teacher — someone who meets them with firmness, consistency, and genuine care. Some of my most rewarding experiences have been with students others gave up on.
My lessons are suitable for all levels: complete beginners, children, adults, and advanced students seeking to refine their recitation or pursue Ijazah.
