About Julius
Since 1970, I have worked with a variety of social welfare populations including ex-offenders, individuals on welfare, individuals classified SPMI (Severe and Persistent Mental Illness), the homeless population, and, most recently, individuals eligible for a homeless residential program for dually diagnosed/co-occurring disordered people ( specifically, dual diagnoses of mental illness and substance abuse).

My college degrees are directly related to my career history. I earned a B.S degree in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work, clinical emphasis. My training and experience suggest I have been more successful with individuals when I begin with everyone where they are in the decision tree known as Stages of Change. Therapy and counseling only serve the client well when the client wants the help and when the client's reports of their behaviors and reports of their symptoms are totally honest/transparent. I look for the signs of these criteria In the first several meetings with clients.
