About Ismaélite
Hi! My name is Ismaélite. I was born in Quebec and I now live in Burnaby, British Columbia.
I am a certified French as a Second Language teacher (CAESLS – Université Laval), and I support adult learners with a clear, structured, and encouraging approach.
I help beginner and intermediate students improve their pronunciation, listening skills, and confidence in real‑life communication. I have a strong passion for French phonetics and for authentic, task‑based teaching using real‑world materials, which allows learners to progress in a practical and meaningful way.

My lessons follow a communicative and structured approach aligned with the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB). I design learning activities around real‑life tasks such as understanding messages, asking for services, interacting in everyday situations, and participating in simple conversations. I also use authentic materials—announcements, dialogues, videos, and public documents—to help learners develop practical and transferable skills.
Pronunciation and French sounds play an important role in my teaching. I use a visual and proprioceptive phonetic approach (gestures, articulatory animations, concrete cues) to help learners understand how to produce challenging sounds, improve their listening comprehension, and communicate with greater clarity and confidence.
