About Krupa
As a mother of a young boy entering university & having raised 2 children myself I am proud to have mastered the skill of not just teaching but positively influencing young minds - here is my intro that would help you better understand if I am the right tutor for your child.
My Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
I believe that at the primary level, learning must be engaging, structured, and building-block based. I utilize a mix of evidence-based practices to ensure concepts stick:
Structured Literacy & Phonics:
Utilizing science-of-reading principles to help early readers decode words effectively rather than just guessing.
The "I Do, We Do, You Do" Model (Gradual Release):
I model the skill first, we practice it together interactively, and then the student takes the lead to build independent confidence.
Multi-Sensory Approaches:
Incorporating visual aids, storytelling, and include literary works like poems to cater to different learning styles as well as build better appreciation for literary works.
A Typical Lesson Plan
----------------------------------------------
Because primary students thrive on routine, every lesson follows a predictable, high-energy rhythm:
The Warm-Up:
A quick, fun icebreaker or word game to activate the brain and build rapport (e.g., "Word Association" or a riddles game).
The Review:
A brief check-in on the previous lesson’s concept to ensure retention.
Core Skill Introduction:
Interactive teaching of the day's objective (e.g., a new phonics sound, a grammar rule, or a reading comprehension strategy) using bright visuals or short mentor texts.
Guided Practice:
We tackle exercises together. This might involve interactive writing, reading a passage aloud together, or sorting vocabulary words.
Independent Application & Wrap-Up:
The student tries a short task on their own to demonstrate mastery, followed by a quick celebration of their wins today and a preview of next time.
Lastly I would like to share that I don't just teach English; I try to build appreciation & interest for the subject.
Patience & Emotional Safety:
Primary kids don't learn if they are stressed. I create a low-pressure, high-praise environment where making mistakes is celebrated as a natural part of growing.
Tailored Progress Tracking:
No two children learn the same way. I customize every single learning track to the child's specific interests (whether they love dinosaurs, space, or fairy tales).

As a dedicated educator holding a Master’s Degree in English (MA) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) earned in India—with full Canadian equivalence verified by WES (World Education Services)—I bring a rich, structured background to elementary education. I have spent years studying not just what to teach, but exactly how children learn best. My goal is to bridge the gap between classroom frustration and "aha!" moments, turning English and Math concepts into fun, manageable steps.
Why Families Trust My Classes:
Globally Trained, Locally Aligned: My advanced degrees are fully recognized in Canada via WES evaluation. I combine rigorous foundational teaching methods with strategies that support the local elementary milestones your child is working toward.
A Safe Place to Learn: I believe that mistakes are just stepping stones to success. I cultivate a high-praise, low-stress environment where your child will feel safe to try, learn, and grow.
The Best of Both Worlds: Whether we are diving into structured literacy and reading comprehension or building strong mental math foundations, I adapt my pacing entirely to your child's unique learning style.
Tutoring is more than just improving report card grades—it is about building the resilience and self-belief your child will carry with them for a lifetime. I look forward to partnering with your family to unlock your child's full potential!
