About Sharon
My name is Ms. Sharon and I am a U.S.-Certified elementary teacher with a Master of Science degree and over seven years of hands-on classroom experience teaching reading, phonics, writing, and math to children in Grades 1 through 5.
I have had the privilege of teaching at some of Arizona's most academically rigorous schools — including BASIS Primary Oro Valley and Sonoran Science Academy — where I designed and delivered standards-aligned literacy lessons that helped children not only learn to read but genuinely fall in love with learning.
I specialize in teaching children ages 4 through 8 — from the little one just beginning to recognize their letter sounds all the way to the 2nd grader building reading comprehension and writing skills. Every child who sits down to learn with me is met exactly where they are — with patience, structure, warmth, and the unshakeable belief that they are capable of far more than they know.
My teaching approach is interactive, culturally affirming, and deeply personalized. I use proven phonics-based instruction combined with engaging digital tools — including interactive Nearpod lessons and Raz-Kids reading technology — to create sessions that are both academically rigorous and genuinely enjoyable for young learners.
I provide every parent with regular progress updates so you always know exactly where your child is, what we have worked on, and what to practice together at home between sessions.
I am currently teaching from the African continent — Kenya — bringing a perspective and a passion to this work that is as unique as it is committed. My students are not just learning to read. They are being seen, celebrated, and prepared to rise into everything the Most High created them to be.

I am Ms. Sharon — an U.S.-certified elementary teacher with a Master's degree and over 7 years of classroom experience teaching Grades 1 through 5 at high-performing schools in the U.S. I specialize in teaching Afro-melanated children to read, write, and develop strong literacy skills through a culturally affirming approach while building the academic excellence they deserve.
I offer virtual one-on-one reading, literacy, and math tutoring for children ages 4–8 — Grades Pre-K through 2nd.
Every literacy session is 20 to 35 minutes long (depending on age) and includes:

✦ Writing and sentence building, when appropriate
