About Franklyn

As an Azure DevOps Engineer (current role) with extensive experience, I have honed my expertise in architecting and deploying robust IT infrastructure solutions leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, primarily through Terraform. My professional journey is marked by a series of achievements in DevOps, Microsoft Azure Cloud, AWS, GCP, and the application of Agile methodologies, demonstrating a broad and versatile skill set across multiple cloud platforms. My proficiency extends to containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, where I excel in creating, managing, and deploying containerised applications to streamline development workflows and enhance production stability. This expertise is complemented by my adeptness in cloud security, ensuring that the infrastructure I build adheres to best practices and industry standards for protecting data and services in the cloud. I am also skilled in automating and optimising CI/CD pipelines, utilising YAML, bash and PowerShell script to define reproducible and efficient build, test, and deployment processes. This skill set enables me to contribute significantly to accelerating software delivery while maintaining high quality and reliability standards.

My teaching methodology is not the regular pattern of teaching, students are being taught without a proper follow-up. In individual classes, I take every outline with simple words and break it down to the point where the student can be able to transfer the knowledge and in a group class, I move at a pace, favourable to everyone in the group. I teach Infrastructure as code using Terraform on Azure, AWS and GCP. You will learn DevOps and security DevOps process, in the cloud. You will become a cloud engineer, pipeline engineer and infrastructure engineer.

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

Using a computer at first was so difficult for me. I first learnt how to type with the keyboard and then kept going from there.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

Computer Networking combined with ethical hacking, which later landed me into cyber security.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I am an innovative and enthusiastic cyber security analyst with over five years' IT experience. I am an information security expert with significant experience in delivering effective IT security controls that are commensurate with business risks. My achievements across multiple information security domains showcase the versatility of my skill sets, making me a good fit for roles across risk and vulnerability management, security advisory and consulting, operations, governance and other security domains.
I seek to bring my wide-ranging expertise, gained from diverse roles, to ensure organisations' security goals are achieved.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

Yes these people inspired me to become what I am today.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

As an assistant information manager supervising the day-to-day activities of a team of three professionals and multi-site IT systems, while in school, I ensured the delivery and technical support of networked systems, applications and IT resources. In particular, this position involved the identification and implementation of process and technical improvements, incident management, and planning of the IT infrastructure to meet user and business needs.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

Keep practicing and find yourself a great mentor!
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

    Video editing, swimming
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

My ability to transfer IT knowledge and convert the knowledge into skill.
