About Lauren
Hi! I’m Lauren. I have a Bachelor of Science from Bradley University in both elementary (k-6) and special (k-12) education. I also have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Portland. One of the aspects of teaching I love most is breaking down the standards of what is expected and turning it into real-life scenarios to ensure students have the best understanding of the concept and are able to apply it rather than just repeat it for a test. I am well-versed in test-taking strategies as well as multiple learning modalities. I look forward to hearing from you and continuing the conversation of how I can best meet your needs!

Former teacher that believes building rapport with students is more important than a perfect lesson plan, but also has a master's in curriculum and instruction, so I am well-versed in understanding what is expected in the school setting and how to achieve that standard. I am happy to set up individualized plans that we agree upon and that meet your needs. I believe learning should be authentic and real-world based so the student will be able to apply the knowledge both in and out of the classroom. I have taught elementary school for 14 years, but am capable of teaching through high school. I also have a special education background which helps me have the ability to adjust lessons to meet your needs. I look forward to working with you and possibly your child!
