About Peter
I am currently in my first year of my MD, and completing an MSc in Experimental Medicine at McGill University, where I hold a 4.0 GPA. Before that, I completed the French Baccalaureate Série Scientifique, Spécialité Mathématiques, with a 20/20 in both maths and sciences, after which I completed a BSc in Microbiology and Immunology at McGill with minors in Psychology and Entrepreneurship for Science Students.
I have been tutoring for 6+ years and have now worked with more than 135+ students from different academic systems (French Bac, IB, AP, CEGEP, College) over 2000+ hours of private tutoring. Many of my students have worked with me over long periods of time, from a full semester to several years, which reflects the trust they place in my teaching style and the progress they make.
In addition to private tutoring, I spent 5 years (2020-2024) as the head teaching assistant for PHYS 102 (electromagnetism) at McGill (a 500+ student class), and 2 years (2021-2022) as a mentor for PHYS 101 (mechanics). Through this experience, as well as my research in science education with Dr. Nikolas Provatas, I developed teaching methods that are clear, structured, adaptable, and effective for a wide range of students and learning styles. My research on science education and teaching led to 3 conference presentations and a workshop I gave at McGill to science professors, advising on teaching practices in the Faculty of Science (McGill Course Design Workshop 2023).
I genuinely enjoy teaching and take pride in helping students build confidence, improve their grades, and finally understand material that previously felt overwhelming.

My mathematics lessons cover: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, probability, functions, arithmetic, linear algebra, exam prep and assignment writing from middle school to CEGEP/undergraduate levels.
My lessons are always adapted to the student’s level, goals, and learning style. At the beginning, I take the time to identify where the student is struggling, whether that is with theory, problem solving, organization, confidence, or exam technique. From there, we build a clear plan together.
In most lessons, I combine concise explanation of the core concepts with guided practice, problem solving, and active recall. I do not simply re-teach the material passively. My goal is to make sure the student can understand it, apply it independently, and recognize the logic behind each type of question.
In mathematics, I place particular emphasis on building method and intuition. Many students feel that math is about memorizing procedures, but I work to help them understand why each step works, which makes it much easier to solve new and unfamiliar problems.
I also help students develop stronger study habits, better ways of organizing their work, and more efficient exam preparation strategies. For students preparing for tests, quizzes, finals, or standardized exams, I can create focused review sessions that target both weak points and high-yield material.
Because I have worked with students from different systems, including the French Baccalaureate, IB, AP, CEGEP, and North American university courses (across Canada and the US), I am comfortable adapting lessons to different curricula and expectations. Lessons are online and personalized, and I am committed to making them both supportive and results-oriented.

Perfect! Excellent!
Perfect! Peter is great at explaining and simplifying math and science concepts. He’s very flexible in making himself available. My son’s grades have improved since working with Peter. Very grateful.
Excellent! Peter was responsive and helped my daughter rapidly when we wrote to him. He is very smart and gave us his full attention. He even accepted to record the session and sent it to her through Dropbox so she could listen to it again to consolidate her lesson. Peter is patient, answered all her questions and didn't judge my daughter's skills.

For my twelve year old, Peter gives detailed, focused and individuated lessons: he zeroes in on areas where the student is struggling and endeavors to not only get them all caught up but also, whenever possible, raise to bar for future lessons and challenges.
