About Spencer
Finance is rarely about following a simple formula because context changes everything in the market. Most people struggle with CFA foundations because they treat financial modeling as a static task rather than a dynamic process.
I draw on 8 years of experience to teach time value of money, cost of capital, and DCF valuation with a focus on institutional logic. Having worked with 268 students, I know how to explain ratio analysis so it actually sticks in your mind. My approach relies on stripping away the confusion to reveal the mechanics of the market. You can expect a calm and detail-oriented style that prioritizes logic over rote memorization.

Usually you will find me walking you through a valuation model that breaks down exactly how a firm creates value in real time. You will notice that I address you directly to ensure that the logic behind every financial calculation remains crystal clear throughout our discussion. Since I graduated from Columbia Business School, I view these lessons as a simulation of a high pressure office environment. I often explain that the 9.0 complexity of modern Finance requires more than just a calculator.
We work through each calculation to ensure you have the necessary precision for your career path. I truly enjoy seeing how these concepts click when we relate them back to current industry practice.
