1. Welcome & Objective Overview (5 minutes)
Begin by welcoming the student and creating a friendly atmosphere.
Clearly explain the learning objective for the session.
Example: “Today, we’ll learn to solve quadratic equations using the factoring method.”
2. Warm-up & Review (5 minutes)
Use Zoom Polls or Chat for a quick warm-up question related to the previous lesson or the current topic.
Example: “Type in the chat: What is a quadratic equation?”
Briefly address any misconceptions or questions that arise.
3. Introduction to the New Topic (10 minutes)
Share your screen to present slides with a few key points, visuals, or an introductory video.
Explain the concept using clear examples.
Keep students engaged by asking them to respond via the Chat or by unmuting to answer short questions.
4. Interactive Guided Practice (15 minutes)
Demonstrate solving a problem on the Zoom Whiteboard or Jamboard.
Walk students through each step, asking them to contribute through Chat or voice responses.
Use tools like “Annotate” on Zoom to let students mark answers directly on the shared screen.
5. Independent Practice with Feedback (15 minutes)
Assign a problem and give students 5-7 minutes to solve it independently while you monitor their progress.
Students can submit their answers in Chat or on a shared Jamboard slide.
Review their answers together, addressing any common errors or questions.
6. Wrap-Up & Recap (5 minutes)
Summarize the main points and answer any remaining questions.
Use a quick poll or have students type one key takeaway in the Chat.
Assign a small homework task or reading to reinforce the lesson.
