About Parmida
About me I'm Parmida, a master's student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Concordia University, specializing in machine learning and computer vision for synthetic biology. My academic foundation combines computer engineering with diplomas in mathematics and physics - giving me deep expertise across the subjects I teach. My Background Before diving into graduate research, I taught mathematics and English, discovering my passion for breaking down complex ideas into digestible concepts. This experience taught me that great teaching isn't about showing how much you know - it's about organizing information so students can build their own understanding. Why Students Trust Me I understand the frustration of staring at a problem that seems impossible. My approach focuses on restructuring how you think about STEM subjects, not just memorizing formulas. When you learn the underlying patterns, everything becomes easier. Being bilingual in English and Farsi allows me to explain concepts from multiple angles, ensuring nothing gets lost in translation. My active research in AI and computer vision means I bring current, real-world applications to traditional subjects. My Teaching Philosophy I believe every student can excel in math, physics, and computer science with the right framework. My job is to identify where understanding breaks down and rebuild it step-by-step. I'm patient, adaptable, and genuinely invested in your success. Whether you're preparing for exams, struggling with coursework, or want to advance your knowledge, I'm here to guide you with proven methods and genuine enthusiasm for teaching.

We begin with a quick diagnostic to see where understanding breaks down. Then I build the concept from scratch using analogies and interactive problem-solving. You'll work through examples with guidance, not just watch me solve problems. Each session ends with a structured summary and practice framework you can use independently. I make you go through things you are struggling with over and over again.
