About Maryam
As I have taken Arabic for several years, I had many high school friends who were still struggling in the course. I took it upon myself to help a group of 4-6 students a year for a total of 3 years in learning Arabic and raising their grades in the class. The average grade students came to me with was a C. With extra help practice we were able to achieve A-B grades.

My name is Maryam, I am currently a college student in North Carolina. I am half Moroccan and therefore have been speaking both formal Arabic and in dialect since I was a child. Being raised in Dubai, Arabic class was required and therefore I have taken Arabic classes for a total of 10 years while in school. I love language and learning and feel learning should be fun and interesting rather than stressful and chaotic. I like to teach students from the base of a course in order to ensure they fully understand what is being taught. While teaching, I like to simplify concepts as though I were reteaching myself. I understand all students learn differently and like to cater to individual needs. A course would begin from the basics and work its way up. When learning a new language I find that learning to read and write first allows a student to remember concepts and vocabulary quicker. I hope we can get to know each other and grow together through this course.
