About Luke
I have a BA Economics degree from the University of Cambridge. In my degree, I completed intermediate micro and macroeconomics courses. I also studied Economics at A-Level, receiving an A*.
I have experience tutoring Economics with university students from Nottingham, Manchester and Leeds universities. My students have ranged in abilities, and lessons have varied from very casual hours to three hours per week. I am thus very flexible in teaching.
I have also tutored Maths for struggling students at GCSE level, with very positive results by improving on predicted grades by up to three class boundaries. I am happy to tutor any additional subjects in which I can add value.

I have worked with students at a variety of levels, and believe every student is capable of top grades with the proper revision and exam techniques.
I believe a tutoring session should not just be an extra hour of schooling, but rather a completely different way of learning. This means I focus in on deep understanding of each concept with real-world examples, so that this will be remembered for years to come. This may mean I don't have time to cover the whole course, which is then left to school/lectures.
Classes will focus directly on the course outline described in each set of lecture notes/syllabus. I am familiar with the A-level, Pre-U, GCSE and university level courses. Lessons focus on building a deep understanding of the material, rather than memorising the basic concepts.
Each lesson would typically involve explaining a core concept, working through an example question, and then discussing ways to boost exam grades through good exam technique.
