About Aviral
Hi! I'm Aviral and I'm a 4th year medical student at the University of Cambridge. I completed my A levels and GCSEs with A*s across the board. I have just attained my bachelor's degree (BA honours Cantab) and have 4 years of tutoring under my belt. This varied experience has matured my knowledge and teaching style with excellent feedback from students and parents. I tutor the following subjects: - A Level biology and chemistry for UK-based board exams - GCSE mathematics and sciences for UK-based board exams - Medicine admissions for UK universities (UCAT preparation, Oxbridge PS, interview) Qualifications: - 5 A* at A level - Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, EPQ - 11A*, a 9, and a distinction at GCSE - A score of 3200 (>99th percentile) and SJT Band 1 in the UCAT - BA (cantab) in Pathology (High first class/80% in immunology module) & Bioinformatics (78%) - 5 A* at A level - Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, EPQ - 11A*, a 9, and a distinction at GCSE - A score of 3200 (>99th percentile) and SJT Band 1 in the UCAT - BA (cantab) in Pathology (High first class/80% in immunology module) & Bioinformatics (78%)

I have a passion for helping students learn to learn themselves - tutoring should prepare a student to learn rather than just how to regurgitate information! I focus on individualised learning techniques using feedback and reflection with focus on student’s strengths. This helps create a more effective and enjoyable learning experience that empowers students to take ownership of their learning journey and achieve their full potential. Homework includes taking notes as well as practice questions. Despite this, it is important to target the syllabus as each board has a different style. I have experience tutoring across a range of GCSE/A level boards, including Eduqas/WJEC, OCR, AQA, and Edexcel. On the medical application side, each university is looking for overlapping yet often specific features, which are important to tailor to in both interview and PS. A targeted yet integrated approach is important! I also know how gruelling the medical application process can be. It is challenging to integrate applications for several separate universities into 1 PS while preparing for an onslaught of interviews. I am experienced in helping students prepare for all parts of the application process, including the UCAT, in which I scored in the top 0.1%.
