About Alice
I am currently a sports teaching assistant at Warwick Prep School, and a volunteer playworker at Castle Wood School, having completed my BA in Education and my MSc in Psychology. Last year, I volunteered as a homework tutor. I enjoy helping students achieve their goals, especially when everything clicks into place and they suddenly understand a difficult topic! I also have experience as a research assistant in Developmental Psychology, and if students want to learn more about what it takes to be a psychologist then I am keen to offer help.

I have tutored students from primary school to GCSE level. I studied teaching methods during my degree in Education, and believe that teaching sessions should start basic, then increase in complexity. I do not want to throw students out of their comfort zones immediately, before they understand the fundamentals of the lesson. However, independent work helps learning, so I incorporate that later on, often asking students to develop their ideas, apply them to wider contexts, and reflect on what they have learned.
My teaching methodology also centres around a growth mindset. I do not accept students saying they simply "can't do it" - they just can't do it yet! Students learn and understand different things at different paces, but with hard work and good teaching I believe they can all succeed.
