About Dom
I am a machine learning engineer in the healthcare industry, focusing on oncology. I have a Master's degree from the University of Cambridge in Information Engineering, and have covered topics in machine learning, statistics, genetics and neuroscience. I've tutored GCSE and A Level maths, as well as giving some informal coaching on coding in Python and the basics of machine learning and artificial intelligence. I have some experience as a TA for GCSE Maths, and I'm DBS checked.

I'm happy to provide lessons on anything I've studied in the past, but I have the most experience teaching GCSE and A Level Physics and Maths (& Further Maths). Outside of standardised exams, I can provide coding lessons in Python and can teach data science & machine learning basics to anyone who's interested! I try to work with my students' preferences for lessons, and encourage them to think about how they learn best! An example lesson plan would be: a short recap (15 mins) of what we looked at last time (and any additional exercises), introducing new concepts (20 mins) and working through relevant problems (25 mins). Usually I will set a couple of questions for the student to try in the time between lessons, which we discuss at the start of the next lesson. I also try to incorporate review sessions where we think back over a topic once we've finished it. From my experience both learning and teaching, I find that revisiting ideas regularly really helps with reinforcing your understanding of them, so I try to do that in my lessons.
