About Claire

I am an experienced SEND practitioner with over 30 years of experience supporting children and young people in educational settings. I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology, with a strong focus on educational and developmental psychology, and have supported learners with a wide range of special educational needs and learning differences. Throughout my career, I have worked with children and young people with diverse profiles, including differences in learning, attention, communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing. I am passionate about creating calm, supportive, and neuro-affirming learning environments where learners feel understood, valued, and able to build confidence in themselves. I am also preparing to undertake specialist postgraduate training in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) to further deepen my support skills.

About the lesson

Sessions are designed to be nurturing, structured, and flexible, adapting to the unique way each child or young person processes information. Lessons focus on building confidence, supporting emotional regulation around learning, and developing practical skills at a pace that feels manageable. I use a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach, adjusting strategies to suit individual needs while creating a safe, low-pressure environment where learners feel understood, supported, and capable.
