About Krista
I am a trained professional journalist and English literature major. I've spent the last five years working as a staff reporter for weekly community newspaper in Okotoks, Alberta and doing creative writing and communications on the side. I also have extensive experience with editing and writing essays, poetry, short stories.

I like to work with a collaborative method when working on writing projects, editing alongside students to explain suggested changes or grammatical errors, using these as teachable moments. For English literature I find it helpful to read important, key passages together and work out meaning and interpretation as a gently guided discussion, playing into student perceptions of literature.
