About Cody
Music is my passion, it's what focuses me, drives me to succeed, and gives me an opportunity to entertain and inspire others. This love of music stems from learning how to play the guitar as a young boy with my grandad to DJing in front of 2,000 music and dance lovers, in 2018 in one of the biggest clubs in Ibiza.
I graduated with a 2:1 in BSC Sound Engineering and Music Production from the University of Portsmouth in 2018. I am a proficient and accomplished user of music software such as LogicPro and CuBase on MAC OS and Windows. I am a founding member, singer and songwriter of Kalypso and we are currently signed to Kulture Records and MadTech Records; We have music available to stream on ITunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, and YouTube, and we've enjoyed airtime on both BBC Radio 1 and BBC 'Introducing'. We've been inspired by performing at musical events as far as the Dominican Republic, Bahamas, France, and we have held residental slots at The Super Club Sankey's in Ibiza, Closer to home, we have regular performances at The Arch Club, Audio, and Pryzm in Brighton; 93Ft East, Cargo, Tobacco Docks in East London.
During my musical education I was keenly aware of the absence of young, motivational and passionate teachers who were involved (and enjoyed) the current music scene. This job would be ideal for me to help young people get involved in music and to help make their dreams become a reality. I would be excited to offer advice and tutorials on composition, recording and production of music in areas such as, electronic, popular and contemporary music.

My teaching methods will include one to one lessons on music and music production whilst having the ability to teach a larger amount of students as well. I teach upcoming music producers and song writers the fundamental elements that have led previous students to go own and sign record deals with labels. I am a fast learner and I always study modern techniques whist researching techniques from the past. I can offer advise as I currently am a successful Music producer with music on Spotify and iTunes. I base my classes on the importance of how hard work pays off and anything is possible if you continue to push your skills and achieve your goals. I approach each topic by finding out which area the student find interesting and using that drive to get a better understanding of the areas surrounding other musical aspects. The key with music production/song writing/music performance is using your passion to drive you so and using your strengths to push boundaries. Working on your weaknesses will help widen your musical knowledge and ensure you get the most out of your abilities.
