About Seren
I hold First-Class grades in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Sheffield, where I also conducted research in theoretical physics, modelling Ellis wormholes using advanced mathematics and Python. I recently hold a Distinction PGCE in Mathematics at the University of Oxford, specialising in applying the most effective pedagogical methods to support diverse learning needs. With over four years of experience teaching KS3, GCSE, A-level, Further Mathematics, and Statistics, I currently work as a private tutor and educational consultant, helping students achieve outstanding academic results and build a deeper conceptual understanding of mathematics.
Beyond teaching, I am preparing to continue my academic journey with a Master’s in Theoretical Physics at King’s College London, with the aim of contributing to research in Hawking radiation and the black hole information paradox.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring the connections between mathematics and philosophy, as well as developing my skills in coding through Python projects in data analysis and simulation. When I want to unwind, I spend time hiking or playing tennis.
My experience so far spans both education and research, allowing me to combine strong subject expertise with effective teaching practice. Families and students I have worked with consistently find my approach both approachable and results-driven, providing excellent value and long-term academic growth.

Every student approaches mathematics differently. Some want to focus on exam success, others on stretching themselves with harder problems, and some simply want to build confidence. My role is to adapt lessons to your goals and learning style. I believe maths is best learned actively — by engaging with challenging problems, exploring ideas, and developing the skills to think for yourself. In our lessons, you’ll do the problem-solving, with me guiding, supporting, and pushing you to make progress.
