About Shivaansh
I am a dedicated Economics student currently pursuing my degree at Southampton. My journey into Economics didn't start with a textbook; it started with a curiosity about how the world actually works—from why housing prices fluctuate to how global trade impacts our daily lives. Having recently navigated the rigours of GCSE and A-Level exams myself, achieving A*, I have a first-hand understanding of the challenges you are facing right now.
I don't just teach for the grades; I teach to build confidence. I know that Economics can often feel like a foreign language filled with abstract graphs and intimidating jargon. My goal is to act as a "translator," breaking down complex theories into relatable, real-world scenarios.

Economics can feel abstract until you see it in the real world. My approach moves away from rote memorisation and focuses on intuitive understanding.
The "Real-World" Hook: Every lesson starts with a current event (e.g., interest rate hikes or carbon taxes) to show why the theory matters.
Active Graphing: I don't just show diagrams; we build them together. Understanding the shift is more important than memorising the final picture.
Exam Technique Mastery: Knowing the content is only half the battle. I focus heavily on chain of reasoning—teaching students how to structure 10, 15, and 25-mark essays to hit the top marks in the "Analysis" and "Evaluation" categories.
Retrieval Practice: Quick-fire quizzes at the start of each session to ensure long-term retention of key definitions and formulae.
