About Joe
I graduated from Brown University in May 2024 with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies. I had a perfect GPA and received the award for the highest-achieving student in my department. I achieved a score of 1550 on my SAT. I attended a specialized high school in New York City (High School of American Studies at Lehman College). I received scores of either 4 or 5 on the AP US History exam, AP World History Exam, AP English Literature and Composition, AP English Language, and AP Calculus.
I also have extensive teaching and tutoring experience. I taught a SHSAT test prep course for middle schoolers. I taught a Kindergarten Hebrew school class. I taught Middle Schoolers at the Wheeler School in Providence, Rhode Island, serving as the advisor to their literary magazine. Finally, I have served as a one-on-one tutor for various middle school and high school students to provide both English and Math homework help.

Hello! I am an experienced teacher and tutor. I am an expert at connecting with students and conveying difficult-to-learn concepts in accessible language. I taught a test prep class for the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT), achieved a score of 1550 on my SAT, and graduated with Honors and a perfect GPA from Brown University. During my time at Brown, I taught students as young as Kindergarten and as old as High School!
The core tenet of my teaching strategy is to meet the students where they are at. I am flexible, adaptable, and understanding. In my experience, the way to achieve mastery is to practice, practice, practice.
I am available to tutor both English and Math. I can assist with college essay writing, standardized test preparation (SAT, ACT, AP Exams, etc.), and homework help. I am qualified to tutor students of all ages, from elementary through high school.
