About Viral
My name is Viral and I am currently completing my Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol. I took my A-Levels in 2019 and was part of the first batch of students doing the new specification A-Level exams. I personally found it very difficult initially and was not achieving the best grades (averaging C's in both further maths and physics) however through receiving both private tuition and working extremely hard to find the correct methods of studying, I managed to excel in all of my subject areas and achieve straight A*'s, recieving the academic heroes award from my college and being apart of only a select few students who had achieved this feat.
I then got a place at University College London (UCL) to study Mathematics with Mathematical Physics, however shortly into the course, I found a misalignment between my interests & curiosities and my course. I left and took a gap year, applying to study engineering in the process as this better fit my skillset. During this gap year I began private tutoring and quickly gained ~15 students that I was teaching 1-to-1 and saw instant increases in their class tests and target grades. Although COVID-19 disrupted this by cancelling exams, I continued tutoring into my years at university when exams had again been reinstated.
I believe that I am a great fit for tutoring you as I can still relate to the academic bubble and am a very recent A-Level completionist. As well as this, I understand what it takes to get the best grades coming from being an underachiever to excelling in the field. Furthermore, I can use my knowledge and experience from my mechanical engineering degree to teach concepts in maths and physics in different, more engaging ways, or using tricks and wisdom that isn't found in an A-Level classroom.
Thank you and I hope to be tutoring you very soon!

I am a very enthusiastic and passionate tutor and have always leaned into mentoring and helping in areas where I see others struggle as it is important to pass on knowledge generously. I am very exam-heavy in my methods as this is what I believe is the most effective way to learn both how to complete the exam, as well as locating your mistakes. I focus on past papers and exam questions, whilst additionally creating custom questions that merge weaker topics from the student (once identified). Whilst I mainly use this method in both maths and physics, knowing the theory via the board-provided textbooks is also a benefit, as there are many tips and tricks included in those books that may not be found through only answering questions. However, some of these books are very long so it also helps to have someone to guide the student on where to look and also what to dismiss, thus saving time and becoming more efficient. I also have many resources (some that may not be available to students) available that I provide to students as a form of homework to complete before the next lesson or within a defined period of time.
The typical length of my lessons are 1 hour however this can be negotiated if longer lessons are needed - I usually do not go over 2 hours as this creates a higher likelihood for the student losing focus. Although I do not have any official teaching qualifications, I have been privately tutoring since 2019 as well as mentoring younger students at University. My lessons are aimed at only sixth-form students but open to those working at ANY grade.
