About Jade
I am an enthusiastic and motivated scientist with a keen interest in genomics and healthcare science. I am passionate about evolutionary biology and its application in medical science and can offer a solid background in laboratory-based research. I am drawn to opportunities involving teaching and science communication as I feel this is of vital importance to future research. I build strong working relationships with a diverse range of people, and always rise to the challenge of exploring new and unanswered questions. I already have numerous experience of communicating my research to members of the public having participated in the Science Museum lates events and Night at the Vet College public events. I also currently teach undergraduate veterinary students at the Royal Vet College alongside tutoring 4th year medical students in Genetics at UCL. My teaching style consists of developing the students' ability to think critically and facilitate them in finding the answer to questions themselves rather than simply feeding answers. My main goal is to build a students' confidence in their own ability to research so they can be prepared for exams or presentations. Jade has a great way of interpreting complex concepts and explaining them in a way that’s clear and easy to understand. She’s clearly very passionate and enthusiastic about Science and biology, and this translates across into her teaching style - making learning it fun too.
