About Giana
As a current student, I understand the struggle to master challenging curriculum, and have personal experience in tackling difficult subjects. I believe the best tutor is one who knows the struggle of learning material for the first time. I've been there, and I can help you find the way out. The foundation of my approach is both compassion and professionalism. I know how frustrating STEM can be, and my goal is to create a judgment-free environment where uncertainty is the first step to learning.
I have several years of experience in biology, chemistry, and math due to my education in biomedical engineering at Texas A&M University (GPA 3.769) as well as applications of these subjects on the MCAT (score 522).
I use Zoom and/or Teams to conduct meetings depending on student preference. Students contribute to their own learning by taking notes and working on practice problems on a collaborative Goodnotes or Lucidchart page. Student technology preferences or limitations can be accommodated.

I teach elementary school math, middle school algebra, and high school science including chemistry and AP biology. I offer help with homework, quizzes, and exam prep. Other subjects upon request.
My approach works with students' existing classes and assignments, identifying gaps in understanding to personalize lessons to the student. Using the student's class materials, notes, and/or homework questions, I can create informative visual aids to help students conceptualize topics better.
