About Andrea
I have a university degree in biology and medical sciences and am a 3rd year chiropractic student. In the past I struggled with learning certain subjects and how to make information "stick". Over the years, I have developed numerous ways to help me understand what I am learning so that I am not only memorizing, I am using the information I learn and applying it in many different ways. School can be tough and mentally exhausting, and I want to help reduce those stresses by finding ways to help understand a subject.

Typically, I like to start my understanding what the student is learning at school and what areas they typically struggle with. Then, I can create a plan to help tackle those problem areas and create new ways to learn. Asking the interests of the student helps design a way of learning, such as if the student is a visual, auditory, reading/writing learner. This way, we can tailor new ways of learning towards the needs of the student. My lesson plan begins with asking what the main problem areas are. Then, we can tackle focusing on those areas. Then for the next session, I will ask the student to come prepared with what we learned last session and explain it back to me in a way they understand.
