About Kathleen
I am 'retired' but still substituting in the school districts. While being a tutor at Professional Tutors of America, I assisted elementary students to catch up in readings and math. Lessons were 1 hour long. Watching them improve and succeed was fulfilling. I have taught in other less formal capacities to kids of all ages.

Initially, I like to assess where the student is at with the subject matter. Next, I look at what is being expected of the student. The input following that is talking to the student myself and finding out what they know, how they approach the subject, and things like what their study habits are. Many times I'm able to draft a scheme designed for student success and material mastery. It may include strengthening math skills, understanding terms, and understanding basic concepts.
