About Bria Alexis
Hi, I’m Bria-Alexis but you can call me Bri. When I’m not teaching English, you’ll find me outdoors—whether I’m hiking through the woods, spiking a volleyball, or rollerblading around the neighborhood. I’ve always believed in the power of real-world experiences, so I love bringing those outdoor adventures into my lessons. I find that real-life examples not only make learning more fun but also help students connect the dots in a meaningful way. I’m a loving, driven, and energetic person who thrives on building connections and making sure my students feel supported every step of the way. I’m also a firm believer that learning doesn’t have to be all textbooks and tests—it can be as enjoyable as a great day outside, and I strive to make every lesson feel just as exciting. My Tutoring Approach :)
As a bilingual educator with a DEC in Early Childhood Education and over 15 years of hands-on teaching experience, my approach is rooted in patience, personalization, and playful learning. I believe that every student learns differently, and I draw from the Multiple Intelligences Theory to adapt my lessons to each learner’s unique strengths—whether they’re more visual, kinesthetic, auditory, or interpersonal. My goal is always to make learning engaging, supportive, and confidence-boosting.
I focus on making English feel accessible and fun—especially for French speakers. I incorporate games, storytelling, role-play, visuals, real-life conversation topics, and interactive activities to keep things dynamic. My fluency in French allows me to explain tricky concepts clearly and offer tailored support for francophone learners.
I emphasize spoken English, pronunciation, grammar, and practical conversation while also helping with reading, writing, and homework support as needed. I balance structure with creativity to keep students focused and motivated.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson is designed around the learner’s needs, but here’s a general structure:
Warm-up / Chat time – short conversation to practice fluency and ease into English mode
Mini-lesson – focus on one topic (grammar point, pronunciation, vocabulary theme, etc.)
Interactive activity – game, story, dialogue, or written exercise based on the topic
Review and practice – corrections, feedback, and reinforcement
Wrap-up – quick recap and goal-setting for next time
I also love sending optional follow-up activities to keep the learning going between sessions.

With over 15 years of teaching under my belt, a DEC in Early Childhood Education, and fluency in both English and French, I’m able to offer clear, patient guidance that meets learners exactly where they are. My background gives me a deep understanding of how language develops, especially for young or francophone learners, and I use a variety of proven techniques to make learning stick. As both a certified educator and a mom to a kindergartener, I know how to create a safe, encouraging space where students feel supported, seen, and excited to learn.
