About Leina
I am a passionate violin instructor with 8 years of teaching experience and a Licentiate of Music in Violin. My approach blends the richness of classical tradition with the freedom of creative expression, helping students develop both skill and artistry. I focus on essential techniques such as bowing, vibrato, phrasing, and musical interpretation to bring every piece to life.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether they are exploring classical repertoire, contemporary works, or popular music adaptations. I provide thorough support for ABRSM and Trinity exams, ensuring students are confident, prepared, and able to showcase their best performance. In addition, I offer orchestral coaching, helping learners understand ensemble dynamics, listening skills, and collaborative performance techniques.
I emphasize a balance between technical mastery and expressive playing, encouraging students to connect deeply with their music. Sight-reading, music theory, and performance practice are integrated naturally into lessons, so learning is both structured and inspiring. I aim to nurture a love for the violin while guiding students toward steady, meaningful progress.

My violin teaching approach is designed to help students grow technically, musically, and creatively. I focus on building a strong foundation in string technique, including bow control, finger placement, and posture, to ensure ease and precision in playing. Vibrato development and tone production are emphasized early to help students achieve expressive, professional sound.
I integrate sight-reading exercises and music theory into lessons, so students not only play but also understand the music they perform. Each lesson is personalized, addressing individual strengths, goals, and learning pace. I provide clear guidance on practice strategies to make improvement consistent and enjoyable.
For students aiming to perform, I focus on stage presence, phrasing, and musical expression. Those preparing for pop, jazz, or vocal collaborations receive support in adapting their violin to different styles, helping them shine in performances and recordings. I encourage improvisation and creativity alongside technique to foster a unique musical voice.
I also guide students through ensemble playing, helping them listen, respond, and blend with others confidently. Every session balances technical exercises with musical exploration, ensuring steady growth. My goal is to help students gain confidence, skill, and a love for violin that extends beyond the lesson.
