About Vedant

Yoga Alliance Certified (RYT 500) | AYUSH Certified Yoga Teacher, Govt. of India | Traditionally trained in the Iyengar lineage under Shree Rudra Guru Ji | MBA, ex-HDFC & former founder. I'm a yoga teacher based in Rishikesh, teaching traditional Yoga, pranayama and meditation to people who think analytically — and want to know why a practice works, not just be told to believe it.

 My background -
After my MBA I worked in banking at HDFC, built my own company, and moved to Dubai. The career worked. The inner life didn't. That gap brought me to Rishikesh. I completed my 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification here, then went further than any course goes — studying the practical, living side of yoga directly under Shree Rudra Guru Ji, a traditional teacher in the Iyengar lineage. Precise alignment, breath control, and steadiness of mind, taught the way it has actually been passed down.

How I teach
Traditional yoga, Ayurvedic lifestyle principles, and a working understanding of the nervous system. Everything I teach, I can explain — what it does to your breath, your posture, and your stress response. Because I spent years inside corporate pressure myself, most of my work is with working professionals dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout and poor focus — and with complete beginners who want to learn correct alignment from day one. I also teach experienced practitioners wanting technical depth, children and senior citizens, and people looking for a gentle, supportive practice alongside treatment for common lifestyle conditions like back pain, high blood pressure, thyroid issues and diabetes.

Every session is 1-on-1 and personalized — never a generic class. Available online worldwide and in person in Rishikesh. I teach because I've lived the shift myself — from restless and successful to steady and clear.

Personalized Yoga That Actually Fits Your Life Every session is built for you — your body, your goals, your schedule. No generic class, no one-size-fits-all sequence.
How a session works
1. We talk first — your health, energy, stress levels, injuries and what you actually want from the practice.
2. I design your practice — asana, pranayama and meditation chosen for your specific needs.
3. We practice together — precise alignment cues, props and modifications so nothing hurts.
4. You leave with a home practice — short, practical, and something you'll actually keep doing.

What we practice

Asana: Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Trikonasana, Virabhadrasana, Paschimottanasana, Bhujangasana, Setu Bandhasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana, Sirsasana and more.

Pranayama: Anulom Vilom, Kapalbhati, Bhramari, Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana — the fastest tools for calming a busy nervous system.

Meditation and relaxation: Yoga Nidra, Trataka, mindfulness and breath-awareness practices for sleep, focus and emotional steadiness.

Ayurveda: simple diet and daily-routine guidance that supports the practice instead of complicating your life.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

To me, yoga is much more than exercise. It is a connection with the Divine.

In every lifetime we chase different goals: career, money, family, success. But at some point, every soul turns towards one ultimate goal: becoming one with the Lord. Yoga is the tool that leads us there. That is why I see it as the most important tool a human being can have.

My interest grew from an inner quest that lived in me for many years. I always had a deep, curious, spiritual side that was searching for a path. Even while working in the corporate world, I could never give my work 100%, because part of me was always pulled towards that search.

I wanted a profession that could fulfil both sides of my life: my spiritual calling and my material responsibilities. Yoga was the one path that brought both together. That is how this journey began, and it has shaped my whole life since.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach, and why?

My motivation will always be my Guru.

I have watched him serve humanity selflessly for years. He has helped people through serious struggles, from depression to life-threatening illnesses. Yet he remains completely detached. If something comes to him, good. If nothing comes, it makes no difference to him. He has never chased recognition, even when his work deserved it.

I truly believe a day will come when the world recognises his methods and uses them to transform lives.

I teach to carry his message forward. My aim is to raise people to a higher frequency, where they can connect with their own Guru, manifest what they truly want, and live with a bigger vision for their lives.
  • How does your work help society?

My specialisation is therapeutic yoga, but my teaching goes far beyond asanas.

I also guide my students towards kindness, charity, love for animals and service to humanity. I try to shine a light on the qualities that make us human. In a world that is pushing us to live like machines, I remind every student that they are not a robot and not an AI. They are a human being, with a heart.

When one person becomes a better human, their family, workplace and community feel it too. That is how I believe my work helps society.

Whatever charity I do personally, I keep private. That stays between me and my Lord.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who would it be, and why?

My role model is Sri Anandamayi Ma.

Reading about her life changed how I see work and duty. She was so detached that she referred to herself simply as “this body”. Her mother was “this body’s mother”. Her father was “this body’s father”.

Even as a divine personality, she did every household duty with full love, without hesitation and without complaint. Whatever was asked of her, she did with complete dedication.

Her selfless love, her humility and her deep understanding of everything inspire me every day. She shows me that real spirituality is not running away from duty. It is doing every duty with love, while staying unattached. For me, she is still present and still guiding.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside teaching, I am an adventurous soul and honestly, a kid at heart! I love playing with children and I still can’t resist a swing.

I love adventure sports: biking, camping, horse riding and shooting. I am a true mountain person, and I adore animals, especially horses, cows and goats.

If I had to choose one hobby above all, it would be travelling, especially spiritual treks in the mountains. That is where adventure and spirituality meet for me.
  • Do you have an anecdote about your student or professional life?

One student’s journey will always stay with me.

She was around 30 years old and weighed about 120–130 kg. She had lost all her confidence. People bullied her, judged her and disrespected her. For two years, she barely left her house. Along with the weight, she was struggling with PCOD, thyroid issues and blood sugar problems.

We built a personalised routine focused on fat loss and muscle building. But the real foundation was pranayama and meditation. I believed stress was at the root of everything, so we worked on breaking that first. Once the stress began to dissolve, the weight started coming down too.

With Surya Namaskar, pranayama, fat-burning practices and long-hold asanas, she transformed over the following months. She came down to around 70 kg, her health issues improved remarkably, and most importantly, her confidence came back.

Today she is a leader at a well-known nutrition brand, coaching others and leading a team of around 130 people. She now lives to inspire others. Seeing her journey reminds me every day why I teach.
