About Adriana
Hi! I’m Adriana! I was born and raised in Contra Costa County, and attended Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA to attain my Bachelor’s degree. While attending as a student, I was given an opportunity to service at my university’s learning center as a tutor, and spent the next three years attaining training and education alongside my bachelor's. I began working in academic retention as an academic coach to students in grant-funded programs such as TRIO and Pathways, students on academic probation, student-athletes, and students of a non-traditional population such as veterans, single parents, even retired students! A few years down the road I began working as a pediatric behavioral therapist for students with intellectual disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, and OCD, and later returned to education as a high school Spanish 1 Instructor. While teaching is something I enjoy, Academic Support and Counseling is where my heart truly is. All can succeed in the education system when given the proper skills and tools to do so, and I’m dedicated to helping your student attain them. I’m excited to partner with your student for their academic success and wellbeing!

What sets me apart as a tutor: Three years of academic training through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) at a 4-Year Credentialed University, and experience teaching at the high school level. My teaching methods and techniques have helped a variety of students from many backgrounds, and helped hundreds of students have their "lightbulb" moments.
