About Pedro
I have experience teaching learners from English-speaking backgrounds and create practical, personalized lessons for those relocating to Portugal, working, traveling, or settling into everyday life.
I provide a supportive environment where making mistakes is part of learning, alongside guidance for independent practice, so you build confidence and use Portuguese naturally in real-life situations.
See a couple of testimonials below of the dozens of students I have helped learn or improve Portuguese over the years.
"I needed Portuguese for work and the lessons were adapted to the corporate environment I work in. Within a couple of months I was much more comfortable speaking with colleagues."
Chris, from Watford, living in Lisbon, Portugal.
"As an American moving to Lisbon, I wanted European Portuguese, not Brazilian Portuguese. Pedro made the differences clear and tailored lessons to the day-to-day situations I'll actually face."
Jenny, from New York, living in Albufeira, Portugal.

My lessons are designed for English-speaking expats and visitors who want to use Portuguese confidently in everyday life. Whether you're moving to Portugal, starting a new job, making friends, or planning a holiday, lessons focus on practical conversations you'll actually have.
I encourage independent practice between lessons and help students overcome the fear of making mistakes—because becoming fluent starts with being willing to speak, even imperfectly.
As a native Portuguese having lived in Britain for over 10 years, I explain the language and idiomatic expressions clearly so you can build confidence and speak naturally from day one.
