About Janithu
I am not just a tutor; I am a mentor who believes that with the right guidance, any student can master Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. After being named as a NESA Distinguished Achiever for Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Ext 1, Mathematics Ext 2, Chemistry and Physics, my goal is to remove the anxiety surrounding these subjects and replace it with genuine confidence, capability and results! I am passionate about sport, specifically basketball, cricket, and football. I bring the same energy, discipline, and "coaching mentality" from the field into my tutoring. I understand the value of practice, consistency, and resilience, and I instill these habits in my students. Overall, you can expect punctuality, preparation, and a personalized roadmap for success in every lesson. Whether you are looking to top the class or simply gain the confidence to participate more in school, I am here to help you achieve your goals!

Founder of Velocity Resources | Passionate Math, Physics & Chemistry Tutor for High School Students Turning Confusion into Confidence I believe that every student has the potential to excel in STEM subjects; they often just need the right explanation to unlock it. As the founder of Velocity Resources, an educational initiative I created to support my peers, I realized that generic teaching doesn't work.
My methodology is built on 3 important parts:
Personalisation: I don't use a "one size fits all" approach. I diagnose exactly where you are stuck.
First Principles Thinking: In Physics and Chemistry, memorising formulas isn't enough. I teach students to derive answers from the basic principles, which makes tackling "curveball" exam questions much easier.
Consistent Feedback: I believe in "high-frequency" feedback. We work through problems together so I can correct mistakes in real-time, preventing bad academic habits from forming.
My Experience & Qualifications: My passion for education goes beyond just getting good grades myself.
- Founder of Velocity Resources: I established a peer-support platform where I ran lunchtime help sessions for Physics, Chemistry, and Math during my Prelim-HSC years.
-Proven Track Record: Through Velocity, I have mentored countless peers, helping them move from confusion to clarity and significantly improving their academic confidence.
Typical Lesson Structure & Length Length: My lessons are typically 60 minutes, though I can accommodate 120-minute sessions for intensive exam prep.
Structure: Review (5-10 mins): We recap the previous week's content to ensure retention.
Core Concept (30 mins): We tackle new theory using multiple resources. Guided Practice (15-20 mins): We apply the theory to exam-style questions immediately. I believe in active recall, not just passive listening.
Who Are My Lessons For? I cater to High School students of all levels (Years 7–12). Junior Students (7-10): Building a rock-solid foundation in Math and Science so senior years are less stressful. Senior Students (11-12): Focused HSC/Exam preparation, refining study notes, and mastering high-level problem-solving in Physics, Chemistry, and Math. Lessons will be 2 hours long to accommodate the all content thoroughly.
