About Brandon
With more than 12 years of experience as a Drum tutor, I specialize in teaching college students who want to build strong rhythm foundations and confident playing skills. I focus on both technique and musical understanding. My teaching approach is based on creativity, critical thinking, and mentorship. I break down complex rhythms into simple parts and guide students patiently through practice.
I encourage questions and active learning. I use innovative methods such as slow-tempo practice, groove variation exercises, and limb independence training. I also include listening tasks and real-song practice to improve timing and musical feel. Accountability plays an important role in my teaching.
I provide clear practice plans, monitor progress, and give honest feedback. This helps students stay disciplined and focused. In addition to drums, I teach rhythm theory, basic notation, time signatures, and performance confidence. My lessons are structured, encouraging, and goal-oriented.
