“English won’t be just another subject in my class.”
I want my students to learn English without feeling scared of grammar, embarrassed about mistakes, or bored with textbooks. My teaching method will be different because I want English to become something they use, not something they simply study for an exam.
Instead of only explaining grammar rules and asking students to memorize answers, I will encourage them to speak, discuss, debate, write, act, and express their own opinions. Mistakes will not be something to be ashamed of—they will be part of learning.
My classroom will be interactive. We can learn through real-life conversations, movies, songs, stories, games, social media examples, role-plays, and situations that students actually experience in their daily lives.
I also want to understand my students individually. Not everyone learns English at the same speed, and not everyone is confident enough to speak in front of others. My goal will be to make even the quietest student feel comfortable enough to try.
I don't want my students to leave my class thinking, “I memorized English.”
I want them to leave thinking, “I can actually use English.”
That is what will make my teaching different.
