Basic Level 1 (A1 – Beginner) General objective: To understand and use everyday expressions of very frequent use, as well as simple phrases aimed at satisfying immediate needs. What you can do at this level: • Greet and say goodbye. • Introduce yourself and others. • Say your name, nationality, age, profession. • Talk about your family. • Ask for and give basic information (phone number, address, price, time). • Understand simple instructions. • Order food at a restaurant. • Describe people, objects, and places using simple words. • Use basic polite expressions: “please,” “thank you,” “sorry.” Basic grammar: • Present tense verbs: ser, estar, tener, llamarse, vivir… • Definite and indefinite articles (el, la, un, una). • Gender and number (boy/girl, dogs). • Basic adjectives (pretty, big, small). • Simple questions: What’s your name? Where do you live? What do you do? Typical vocabulary: • Numbers, colors, days of the week, months. • Family, home, school, food, body. • Common verbs: eat, drink, work, study, sleep, read. Medium Level 2 (A2 – Basic / Elementary) General objective: To understand frequently used phrases and expressions related to areas of relevance (basic personal and family information, shopping, places of interest, occupations, etc.). What you can do at this level: • Understand and use phrases related to your daily life: work, health, shopping, housing, food, studies. • Talk about your daily routine and recent past. • Describe your likes, hobbies, and future plans. • Make more detailed descriptions of people, places, and objects. • Interact in simple social situations (e.g., making reservations, visiting the doctor, asking for help). • Write short emails, messages, personal notes. Key grammar: • Present tense of regular and irregular verbs (go, do, leave, want, can…) • Present perfect and simple past (I have eaten, I went to the cinema). • Near future (I’m going to study). • Comparatives and superlatives (more than, the best). • Direct and indirect object pronouns (him, her, me, you…). • Basic connectors: because, but, then, also, although. Typical vocabulary: • Everyday life: home, work, transportation, free time. • Health and human body. • Stores and products, prices, clothing. • Emotions, moods, feelings. • Travel, cities, countries, means of transport. Example sentences at A2 level: • “What did you do last weekend?” • “I like going to the movies, but I prefer reading at home.” • “Can you help me with this task?” • “I’m going to visit my grandparents tomorrow.” Advanced Level 3 (B1 – Intermediate) General objective: To understand the main points of clear standard texts on familiar topics. To be able to handle most situations that may arise while traveling. To produce simple and coherent texts on familiar or personal interest topics. What you can do at this level: • Understand conversations about daily life, work, or studies. • Express opinions, desires, intentions, plans, and feelings. • Narrate past events with more detail and coherence. • Participate in conversations about personal experiences, news, culture, or travel. • Write narrative texts, formal or informal letters, and more developed descriptions. • Support your ideas with connectors and examples. Key grammar: • Imperfect vs. preterite (when I was a child, I went to Spain). • Simple conditional (I would like to travel to Peru). • Simple future (I will work in an international company). • Subjunctive in basic sentences (I want you to come, it’s important that you study). • Subordinate clauses: causal, conditional, concessive (because, if, although). • Reported speech (he said he would come, he asked me if I had time). Typical vocabulary: • Abstract topics: emotions, relationships, media, technology. • Life experiences: work, travel, education, culture. • Language for expressing opinions: I think, I believe, it seems to me… • Common idiomatic expressions. • Language tools for debating, advising, persuading.
