About Tom
Currently a lecturer at a UK university. I have taught for 8 years at undergraduate and postgraduate level, at three UK universities (Warwick, Oxford Brookes, and Bradford). I primarily teach undergraduate and postgraduate students (but 6th form students too), to develop their subject expertise and to demonstrate this in their assignments. The 80/20 rule is very important here - small tweaks often mean substantial improvements to your grades. You won't need many lessons to improve a lot. As well as subject learning, we will emphasise the many tricks-of-the-trade - essentially how to communicate best in your essays and exams, to pull you up a grade or three quite easily. In a free 30-min taster we can quickly figure out what you need and see how we could utilise our time the most efficiently. I have won awards for my teaching, and am a UK HEA 'Fellow' - the gold standard qualification for UK university-level teaching.
