About Stuart
I began my professional career in 2002 when I was awarded Guitar Magazine’s ‘Acoustic Guitarist of The Year’. I have written 12 guitar instructional books covering Soul, Blues, Fingerstyle, Americana and more - 6 of which became #1 bestsellers on Amazon. Since 2004 I have been the acoustic guitar columnist for Guitar Techniques magazine and my lessons have appeared in Guitarist magazine, Guitar World and more. I have acted as a composer and consultant to Rockschool, The London College of Music and The ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). As a session guitarist I have worked for many clients from Amazon Prime Movie Studios to tv ads for fashion house Balenciaga and many more.
I am a clinician for Vox amplifiers, Takamine guitars and Alvarez guitars. I also work as a professional composer and have released 4 albums through BMG International records, my music is played daily on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and tv channels across the world. Beyond guitar I am able to give professional advice on publishing, composing, session work, equipment/live performance and releasing music. For students considering music at Higher Education I am able to advise on courses, institutions and career paths.

A guitar lesson should be a highlight of your week so I ensure you have clear, tangible goals so you feel progress has been made with direction for the next session. I believe in creating a relaxed teaching environment where you can ask questions, receive feedback and never leave feel intimidated or confused.
Teaching Experience
I was Head of Guitar at BIMM (British Institute of Modern Music) for fifteen years during which time I taught over 1200 degree level students. In this capacity I learned about the various teaching and learning styles and I bring this into my one to ones to ensure lessons work for you, your level and learning style. I’m able to cover any style and level from beginner to advanced. Over the past twenty years I have taught 100s of students one to one and helping individuals improve is now my focus.
