About Sophia
As a dedicated college student and lifelong guitarist, I bring years of experience and a genuine passion for teaching to each lesson. My journey in music has taken me from regional competitions to international stages, where I’ve honed not only my technical skills but also my confidence and adaptability as a musician. I believe that each student has a unique musical voice, and my approach is designed to nurture that individuality while providing a solid foundation in technique, theory, and creative expression.

My guitar lessons combine technique, theory, and creativity, providing students with a well-rounded foundation in music. I start with warm-up exercises to build finger agility, followed by targeted lessons on skills like fingerpicking or chord transitions, paired with relevant theory. We apply these in songs that interest the student. I’m flexible with teaching styles to suit each student’s interests—whether they’re into blues, rock, or jazz—and I make learning fun by encouraging improvisation and creativity. These lessons are ideal for beginners to intermediate players, ages 10 and up.
I realize not everyone wants to learn about music theory so if you're here just for technique we can do that too!
