About Tyler
I am now accepting students for the summer holidays and the 2026/27 academic year.
I am an experienced tutor who, during the 2025/26 academic year, has delivered over 220 private lessons to students preparing for their GCSE and A Level examinations, helping them to build confidence and achieve strong results. Please read more about me below - I hope to hear from you soon.
I’m a First Class graduate from Northeastern University London in Philosophy with History BA (Hons). I was awarded the Philosophy Subject Award (2023) and Dissertation of the Year (2025) at NU London. Currently, I am a Masters by Research Philosophy student, exploring Margaret Cavendish’s metaphysics. I have been teaching for several years now and I currently tutor English Literature (AQA), English Language (AQA), Religious Studies (AQA and OCR), History (AQA), and Philosophy & Ethics (AQA, OCR, and Eduqas).
I am passionate about supporting my students and love to see them grow confidence in the subjects I teach. I’ve worked as a General Teaching Assistant in a secondary school under the SENDCo. I thoroughly enjoyed this role and supporting students in a school environment. I moved from North Yorkshire to London, in 2022, for my studies and I now live in Cambridgeshire while I complete further research. I am also an entrepreneur. I run a small business which has supported hundreds of clients over the last five years. I’m always interested to hear about my students' hobbies and interests so expect a few introductory questions during our first lesson together!

The best way to learn Philosophy and Ethics (at A Level) or Religious Studies (at GCSE) is by working through supporting materials and looking at wider reading to understand the subject in more depth. I will provide an additional hand-out to supplement the student's revision after each session with feedback.
Each session will last for approximately 1 hour and all materials will be provided. If the student is comfortable with practising essay questions, I will provide feedback and support to improve their writing proficiency so that they can reach the top grades.
I have both a GCSE in RS and an A Level in Philosophy and Ethics (A*). These sessions are for any student aged between 15-18!

His communication is excellent, he has developed a wonderful rapport with my son and has supported him meticulously in his Religious Studies GCSE.
Tyler's knowledge of the subject matter has been first rate and his use of the curriculum alongside setting relevant homeworks and providing lessons structured closely around answering exam paper questions has given my son a solid framework for exam success. Tyler is a very knowledgeable tutor and is able to build a great rapport with any student! He is a very experienced tutor and supported a large number of students across the years. You cannot go wrong asking him to be your tutor!
Tyler has supported my daughter's learning and confidence in A Level Religious Studies, helping her move from a D to an A. I cannot thank him enough for his support. He is always happy to go above and beyond, answering questions outside of the lesson and providing feedback on her work.
Offers very individual support that is tailored to your weaknesses, very motivating and enjoyable, seen a clear improvement in essay quality with him :)
I first became acquainted with Tyler when they were a student in my Religion, Philosophy, and Ethics classes at both GCSE and A-Level. During this time, I was consistently impressed by their intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and dedication to their studies.
Tyler demonstrated a natural aptitude for these subjects, consistently achieving high grades and contributing meaningfully to class discussions. Beyond academic excellence, it was his commitment to understanding complex philosophical concepts and their ability to engage critically with challenging material that set them apart from their peers. This dedication to learning continued throughout their education, even during the unique challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, where Tyler adapted to remote learning with resilience and focus.
As their teacher, I was also fortunate that Tyler took on the role of a teaching assistant after completing their A-Levels. In this capacity, Tyler showed a remarkable ability to support and guide students, offering clear explanations, encouragement, and insights that helped foster a positive and collaborative learning environment. Their maturity, patience, and communication skills made them an invaluable asset in the classroom.
I followed Tyler’s academic journey at university, and I am thrilled to note that they completed a History and Philosophy degree with First Class Honours. This is a testament to the same qualities I observed during their time as a student: diligence, critical thinking, and a deep passion for learning. Throughout their degree, Tyler remained focused and hardworking, continuing to excel in their studies and be recommended for several other research opportunities after his degree.
In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Tyler for any tutoring opportunity. Tyler has shown excellence and a strong sense of responsibility, dedication, and a genuine passion for knowledge and teaching.View more recommendations
