About Archie
Hi, I am Archie and I am passionate about Music. I believe that everyone has a musical bone in their body, however not everyone is able to express this musicality. As a tutor, it is my job to teach students the fundamentals of music theory, analysis, history, and essay writing so that they can express their inner musicality in a formal setting (i.e. exams). I have always loved music and recently I was awarded the Eve Myra Kisch Prize from Durham University on completion of their 3 year Music course. I graduated with a first-class degree and was commended for my understanding of music theory, analysis, and composition. Additionally, my writing was published in a leading academic journal. Outside education, I work as a professional educator, composer, and orchestrator, and I play the piano, bassoon and I also sing. Hi, I am an award-winning Music tutor, specialising in Music exam prep (GCSE, ABRSM, Trinity & A Level). I pride myself on being both a results focused, but also a patient and kind tutor who will tailor each lesson to each student's needs. I recently graduated with a first-class degree from Durham University, was awarded the 2023 Eve Myra Kisch Prize for Musical Proficiency in examinations and was offered a place at Oxford University. I also have over 3 years of experience as a professional Music tutor. I seek to share this in-depth knowledge of the subject in my lessons to create engaging and fun lessons which are tailored to each student's ability, goals, learning styles, and age. Each lesson can be however long the student asks for, and I am flexible to try out longer and shorter lessons. Typically I teach lessons which are 30, 60, 90, & 120 minutes long.
